We had a fantastic tour in Marseille with this local company and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip.
Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the city. We started around the Old Port where we learned a lot about the history of Marseille and the atmosphere there was amazing. Then we went up to Notre-Dame de la Garde, which was absolutely stunning. The views over the city and the sea are incredible and our guide shared so many interesting stories about the place.
The whole tour felt relaxed, authentic, and very well organized. It was a great way to discover Marseille with a local perspective.

Our guide and driver, Paul, gave us all a very friendly welcome and so a group of strangers quickly became friends. Our day long outing was perfectly paced, with plenty of time in each place we visited to explore on our own or be shown the sights. Paul’s immense knowledge of and deep love for the region were immediately evident. He took us first to the beautiful village of Lourmarin which was just coming to life at the start of the day, and which we walked around as a group. With its old houses and shops, church and castle, it was the essence of old Provence. Then on to Roussillon with its famous red ochre soil and bustling market, with all the provisions for an impromptu lunch. We had plenty of time to explore on our own; the hilltop church was a particular joy to see, at the top of winding streets.
Then to Gordes, with a quick stop on the approach road for photos of the iconic view of this famous hilltop village. Again, plenty of time to explore this amazing place: another imposing castle and beautiful church, steep streets tumbling downhill, and a scenic square to sit in and enjoy a lavender ice cream.
Our final stop was Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, at the source of the river Sorgue where it rose from within a deep limestone cave. Again, Paul dropped us off in the centre of the village, signposting us to the many notable sights. Some of us walked upstream along the river as far as the path allowed, marvelling at the perfectly clear turquoise water, several waterfalls and the drama of the limestone gorge.
On the journey back to Aix-en-Provence, Paul pointed out lavender fields and famous vineyards amongst other interesting features, and we arrived promptly back on schedule. The minibus was comfortably air-conditioned; we were taken to places we would never have discovered by ourselves. The trip was the highlight of our holiday!
Our experience with Bonjour Provence Tours was great from start to finish. Silvio was incredibly helpful in arranging the logistics of our tour and very prompt and communicative. He went above and beyond to make sure the tour fit our needs (we went on the tour of Cannes, Monaco, Nice, and made a special request to stop in Eze).
Our guide Paul was wonderful. He knew a ton of interesting information about each place that we visited and about many cities along our route as we drove. His English is perfect and he has a very kind personality. He's also a great driver and we felt very safe, comfortable, and excited the entire trip. We saw everything we wanted to see and then some! I would highly recommend Bonjour Provence Tours and we will absolutely be using them again! Merci Paul et Silvio !
My friend and I went on the picturesque Luberon bus tour this October and absolutely loved every second! Our driver and guide, Marlin, was so attentive and knowledgable. He made sure we got ample time in each village and even elongated the tour to take us to a wine tasting. It was absolutely fantastic. Small car, personalized experience, and the BEST way to visit local villages near Aix. Highly recommend for those who are weary of large group tours but don’t want to pay the private driver price tag. Thank you Marlin for the fantastic day!
