What to expect from the tour:
This tour will enable you to explore the wonderful Lavender fields of Provence, where you will have 2.5 hours of free time to take stunning pictures, discover the charming village of Valensole as well as a local distillery. This tour will enable you to capture amazing photographs of vivid colours and true natural Beauty.
The tour leaves from Aix-en-Provence and on the motorway, you will take a 45-minute journey in order to reach the first Lavender fields. Fortunately, the local producers will enable you to take images in the Lavender fields while you can also browse their shops to purchase the products that they make. This can include lavender honey, almonds and even lavender oil. As part of the experience, you will also learn about the process of Lavender Oil extractions as well as the many varieties that are planted and grown while you can explore the qualities that the oil has.
Of course, the main thing to take away from this tour is the ability to capture some amazing images of the Lavender fields that you can treasure forever. Our guides provide a friendly service and if you are travelling alone, they will also be able to take images of you should you ask them to.
As the tour is a small group of people, it gives you the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, which is an experience in itself. However, this is a great opportunity to see the fields,
learn about them and do it all in a stress-free way.
When you discover the village of Valensole, you will instantly recognise it’s charm where you can explore local shops, purchase products and try local delicacies. We recommend the lavender ice cream as it is completely unique and tastes delicious. While on your tour, it is often possible to take photographs of the sunflower fields which is a sight to behold. This is a great opportunity to escape the bustle of the city and to immerse yourself in nature.
This tour takes place roughly between the 15th June and the 20th July and once the fields have been harvested, the lavender tours will then take place in the village of Sault in the Mont Ventoux area. In this area, the harvesting of the fields takes until the middle of August. To reach this area, it takes around 2 hours but you will get to view amazing scenery and explore mountain roads on the way there and when you return.
